La Capranera, Fiano (2022)
La Capranera, Fiano (2022)
REGION: Campania
COUNTRY: Italy
GRAPE(S): Fiano
BODY: Light
ABV: 13%
TASTING NOTES: Crisp, green apple and crushed stone notes on the nose. Orchard fruits on the palate with a saline minerality on the finish.
WINEMAKING NOTES: The grapes are softly crushed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The wine ages for eight months in tank before bottling. Sustainable.
FUN FACT: La Capranera, which translates to "black goat" in Italian, is named for the breed of goats - cilentana nera - that graze in the national park near where the grapes are grown. Once on the verge of becoming extinct, the goats have had a resurgence in population, just as wines from Campania have recently enjoyed increased visibility internationally.
PAIRS WELL WITH: Caprese salads and grilled poultry.
