TASTING NOTES: Ripe, plush, and full-bodied, loaded with notes of blackberry, dark cherry, currant, violet and spice. The addition of Grenache helps soften the Syrah's tanic bite.
WINEMAKING NOTES: This wine is produced by a family estate. The vineyards are located on the slopes of the Mont Ventoux mountains in Southern Rhône. Their Syrah and Grenache vines were planted in the early eighties in clayey soils. The grapes are harvested at night and aged in concrete tanks for 6 months. The wines name "Sauvage" is inspired by Pichon's respect for and attachment to nature.
